Veggie burgers and veggie sandwiches at restaurants are either hits or misses. Burgers that involve black beans are usually good. The last veggie burger I had was as if they took a bag of frozen mixed veggies-the peas, corn, and cubed carrots- and squished it into a hockey puck. One time, I had a sandwich was just a portobello mushroom between warm-ish bread with a pickle.
I have an issue with granola. I just keep eating it. And then before I know it, I’ve finished the box and I’ve gotten two times more than my “recommended servings of whole grain” in one sitting.
The solution? Only making one serving at a time. I can’t eat what’s not there.
If kids don’t like broccoli, they hate brussel sprouts with a burning passion. Most people say they hate brussel sprouts and haven’t even tried them. It’s just the way of life to hate brussel sprouts.
These brussel sprouts are sort of like a loophole. Just because it’s on a pizza. But it’s a whole wheat pizza so it’s perfectly justifiable.
I can’t believe I haven’t written about oatmeal yet! It’s a staple in my life! It’s the breakfast I eat most often. Even if I don’t want to eat it and my mom made it, I’m gonna have to eat it anyway. She always tells me I need to eat something that “sticks to my ribs”.
My favorite flavor of oatmeal is Maple Brown Sugar, but this is much better than those prepacked to-go oatmeal packs. Why you ask?
Because it is.
I love dates. And all the things you do can do with them. I never got to experiment with them because I usually would go through a pack of dates in an instant. I took two every time I passed by the jar. Then at the end of the day I thought ” what happened? I only ate like five.” Yeah, five times four.
But I have improved. Or at least that’s what I’m going to tell you.
