What do you do when you’re excited? Do you scream in random outbursts? Do a little dance (and then slip because you are wearing socks on a hardwood floor)? Fidget non-stop?
I happen to do a combination of all of those. Apparently from a young age anyone could tell that I was excited because my hands wouldn’t stop shaking. But now I’ve also picked up the habit of yelling and singing when I’m excited (when I’m in my house), and becoming some sort of a Southern Christian preacher.

Unlike pancakes, waffles don’t have to be drawn into memes or cartoon characters on a griddle to catch anyone’s attention. Waffles are art all on their own.Waffles are beautiful: crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, with pockets perfect for holding syrup, strawberries, or practically anything. (They’re like the pockets of men’s jeans. I’ve seen guys hold iPads in their pockets. I’m lucky if the pocket on my jeans can hold a chap stick.)

I have an issue with granola. I just keep eating it. And then before I know it, I’ve finished the box and I’ve gotten two times more than my “recommended servings of whole grain” in one sitting.
The solution? Only making one serving at a time. I can’t eat what’s not there.

It’s the holiday season! Which means that it’s time to wrap yourself in lights and tinsel, stick some cinnamon scented pinecones up your nose, and live off of candy canes and the holiday spirit! And gingerbread! You can’t forget about gingerbread.
(I would also say that it’s also time to bundle up and waddle around like a penguin but here in New Jersey it’s the middle of December and the average temperature is 60° F. )
